Sierra Biological welcomes new IPM advisor Chris Holshouser!

Chris has recently joined us from North Carolina, where, as Head Grower for Metrolina Greenhouses, he managed 100 acres of production glasshouses. Chris has more than 20 years’ experience in the greenhouse industry, with specialized knowledge of managing indoor Cannabis production as well as more than 70 species of ornamentals.

Since obtaining his BS Degree in Biology (with a Minor in Horticulture) from Western Carolina University, Chris has acquired extensive knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) (using both chemical and biological control strategies), as well as other aspects of greenhouse management (including manipulating growing environments and environmental control strategies). He also has expertise in production planning, crop scheduling, and personnel management.
